- The cells used in this experiment were human cheek cells. They were collected on a cotton bud (swab) by gently scraping the inside of the cheek. The swab was placed into an Eppendorf tube
- A lysis solution was added to burst the cells open. The lysis solution and cells were placed in a waterbath.
