I am in the process of fabricating a thin film composite reverse osmosis membrane and looking for advice on the interfacial polymerization step that will form the active layer on the polysulfone membrane support. Many of the studies that I have found describe "immersing" or "soaking" the membrane support in the aqueous and organic solutions, but I am not sure how they accomplish this on only one side of the support. Any advice as to how the membrane should be covered by the aqueous and organic solutions and for how long would be much appreciated. Thank you!
