Codeine, Tramadol, alcohol and marijuana a day a host of others are abused in Nigeria by youths.
Substances commonly abused by youths depend greatly on location. In Nigeria, it used to be Marijuana and alcohol but the trends are fast changing. Adolescents as young as 11 years old now abuse substances like Codine, Tramadol, TomTom dissolved in Lacasera, MSG dissolved in a host of gaseous drinks among other things.
They start in early adolescence especially once they start secondary (high) school.

Our adolescents in Nigeria is in trouble, if the Government and other stakeholders like the custom men , standard organisation and Drug Enforcement Agencies do nothe stand now and fight this evil trend of importation of Tramadol codeine etc into the country. This abuse of substance is one of the causes of suicide among youths. We must stop this to preserve the lives of our youths. Thank you.
Drug abuse among adolescents in Nigeria has been a challenge as most students dropout of school and some with very low academic achievement. Commonly abused drugs are alcohol , tramadol ,codeine and the use of sniper in committing suicide.
