hi.next to my city, there was a wonderful fresh water lake called Parishan in Fars province in Iran, the second biggest freshwater lake in my country, that became dry with no more water. it was a wonderful tourist attraction site attracting alot of tourists from all over the world . there were also alot of unique birds migrating there during summers. now, no lake.

Dear Colleagues, thank you very much for your answers. Compared to Europe, it is usually much hotter in your home country than here. This would mean that water resources would shrink and that there are few resources - such as sufficient rain or springs - to compensate for this development. On the other hand: Nothing seems to have a negative change with you. From a North-European point of view, however, their home is in about the same climatic zone as yours, is my impression. How can this be explained that no climatic changes can be observed in your region? You will certainly be greatly congratulated by others who suffer from climate change. Is there an explanation for the difference?

No science prove on this but I notice unusual rainfall this year in the Southwest region of Nigeria this year.

I remember when I was a child, there were periods of continuing rain that extended for few days, and the rain started at the end of October, end extended up to May, for the last ten years it starts raining at the December, and ended at the end of March, and we don't see that periods of continuing rains.

You can see that the rain was more than 30mm at Jan 1901, and fall down to 8mm at Jan 2015.

I am reporting from southeastern Arizona (Tucson) and northwestern Chihuahua, Mexico (Nuevo Casas Grandes) and would say that there has not been any significant change in climate here over the past five years. Fluctuations, yes, but no identifiable systematic trend. The fluctuations are really "weather events" not "climatic events", however.

Yes, climate change is a global issue. In Kathmandu some insects which we used to see in the past now we can not see. Further we used to see mountain areas covered full of snow, but these days we see black rock a little covered by snow. Many things.

Dear Kenneth Towe, thank you very much for your important note. Yes, i have asked the question as layman, and I expect answers mostly from layman, and the cue is known in the public as climate change. It is right to know the difference, although, in my modest view, it is not so important for the given experiences here. The expected answers do indeed concern the weather and other negative changes in our natural environment as perceived by people, RG users, in their environment. Therefore, all discussion participants will be pleased to know that you are an expert in our discussion group. And I hope that you will give some more comments to some answers.

I remember, once as a member of an academy, organizing a conference on climate change with climate experts. And one of the most important points of the presentation of the experts was to see the long-term nature of climate - and a possible "change", also in order to understand the difference to the "weather".

Of course, a lot of theories about the "change" of the climate were presented, and there were also voices that in the long run, everything that the media report on so-called climate change is not so bad or exaggerated when one calculates in geological ages.

These aspects play no role in my small survey. But I would like to mention two important results of the climate researchers:

Firstly, everything that is being done today by politicians or environmentally aware people has its first effects, if at all, very early in 50, better in 100 years. And they showed significant changes of climate which began in the 19th century and earlier.

Secondly, if one thinks solely of the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and exhaust gases through legislation, then everything we are trying here in individual countries in Europe is completely ineffective in relation to the quantities of harmful emissions that are taking place in China today.

Our question here has a much smaller dimension, it concerns our own experiences that have to do with a subjectivelly perceived change of our environment, or more exactly said, the experienced consequences. The problem of "clean water" is neither a climate question nor a weather question, yet I think it is right for discussion participants to report on their experiences. If this is linked to theoretical assumptions, this is not compelling for our discussion. But it's a good thing you pointed that out. In the social sciences there is the drawer "subjective theories", and indeed there may be a lot contained, which climate researchers only answer with a shake of the head. But collecting such assumptions is a task of its own. So, thanks again for your detailed comments.

Not noticeable.

A small river used to flow next to our fields all year round but is now only occasional and is now 3 times smaller. Scary because we used to get irrigation water from the river and now it is much deeper and we can nor redirecect some water for irrigation from it!

Dear Kenneth, let me (and others) somewhat time to process what we have communicated. Your message is hopeful. But also in the circles of experts in some respect I perceive much different judgements about consequences for future living.

Dealing with popular assumptions on long-term environmental degradation, which is associated with "climate change" in the population, can be wrong in many respects, but the results of the discussion can still be fruitful. However, it is important to draw attention to this discrepancy, you have indicated. In this way, a discussion becomes a learning process.

In psychology there are many basic assumptions, of which one basically does not know whether they are right or wrong, they have only survived because - apparently - they have proven themselves. I know of a research project involving the alteration of a joint on the toe of an animal 450 million years ago. You have to travel around the world to examine individual fossil finds. About "Kambrium explosion" of species (and devoloping of life after that period) we have read in the past - as non-experts - in the media. But, no problem to say, you know things in many details better than I do or others in our thread.

I am interested in a discussion that, we can see, is seriously relevant for many people - or at least affects them. We can learn a lot from those who know the history of the earth and the history of life in the past. But, certainly, also in palaeontology a lot of work is done with hypotheses that persist until they are replaced by a better one. In my discussions with climate experts my experience was: Excellent knowledge, and gladly I learn something. But if the question aroused: Should we do something? they were somewhat at odds and the answers were different.

Air and water pollution is a increasing function of time for last two decade in my residing city as associated authorities and govt not taking preventative measures.

Breathing problems in daily routine work and ecology is not balanced resulting irregular climate. Protection of nature is most basic responsibility of inhabitants/government/authority as human development is decided by above mentioned statement.

Over the past few years, climate change has become very visible. Weather surprises. In early summer in some regions of Russia may fall snow, or begin unusual for us tropical rain with squally wind, or hail. And spring comes earlier than usual, flowers and plants begin the flowering period, and then winter comes back and everything dies. In summer, the heat melts asphalt. Seasons follow each other several times a year. Rivers are shrinking, air and water are polluted by industry and cars.

Climate change is a lie. There have always been colder and warmer phases on Earth. Humans are not responsible for the current rise in temperatures, but this is a natural phenomenon. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a vital greenhouse gas that has no effect on global warming and also helps plants to grow. We are not heading for a climate catastrophe, but are subject to a veritable "climate hysteria" that bans skeptics of climate change and is a campaign of political scientists.

Simply summarized, this is the criticism of the "climate lie" - the climate change fueled by people is called into question or even denied altogether. The conviction of these "climate deniers": We are sitting up a huge fraud and waste time and money in the fight against something that does not exist.

Immediately before the start of the climate summit in Copenhagen, the skeptics were buoyed once e-mails from leading climate researchers from more than ten years had been hacked and published. In it, the scientists should, among other things, talk about the "idiots" of climate skeptics and discuss how they can suppress critical studies. The "climate deniers" are already talking about "Climate Gate" , following the Watergate scandal that brought down US President Richard Nixon. They smell the biggest scam in the history of science. On the other hand, the climate scientists concerned suspect targeted sabotage in order to discredit the Copenhagen Climate Summit.

Can the more than 2,000 scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) err, who, as the so-called "IPCC", have been writing the official climate report since 1990, which is the basis for the negotiations in Copenhagen - what about the objections of the "climate deniers " ?

Dear Kenneth, my quotation of newspaper articles was only some salt in the soup of discussion. Otherwise I am happy about your contributions, in fact we have too few experts in this field in RG. Most people living in disaster areas today don't care whether it comes "only" from the weather or from the climate, at least they suffer - as is reported - from excessive heat, drought, typhoons, floods and the consequences. That is why I think it is good if climate and weather are separated in our discussion.

Summer season has expanded to 8-10 months in a year and it is getting hotter and hotter every year. Winter season is getting shorter; lasting for only 2-3 months period. Monsoon season has labile mood; some years it is almost dry and in some year it is associated with flood. Smog in many big cities due to pollution is associated with increased respiratory infections. Air, we breath is less clean.

In my area there has been a change: a rise in humidity levels. During the winter it makes you feel the cold more severe (used to be around 30 % now more like 70%). In the summer the heat is more unbearable if it is humid (more than 70 %), while before was more dry, but not often above 70 %.
