Hi.. Philippe Massicotte; I will test the distribution of an organizm in an area by application of Poisson distribution. At this point I want to do another statistical test for supporting the result of Poisson distribution in other words for testing it.

I'm agree, depends on what you want to do, GLM is a nice option, but for instance, GAM could be another possibility.
