I am looking for a statistical analysis that will be used in correlating the abundance of a certain group of herps species with respect to its microhabitats, environmental parameters, and physicochemical variables. I'm still searching but so far I've only found quite a few papers. Thank you very much.
First, let me admit that this is out of my field. However, sometimes it takes fresh eyes to discover new approaches. With that said, have you considered a canonical analysis? It seems that you are correlating more than just two variables. That is you are correlating two SETS of variables. Canonical correlation can do this and not only determine the maximum relationship between the two sets of variables, but how each variable in each set contributes to that relationship.

Hi Prof. James E. McLean thank you very much for responding to this. Actually, I was thinking the same. I had tried to use this statistical analysis once on my previous work and it shows a clear visualization of the relationship between species and specific variables that contributes to its occurrence.
Just want to ask sir, well you recommend the use Poisson Regression Analysis for a count data as well as Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) to test if two or more groups (dependent variable) differ from each other significantly with one or more independent characters (eg. microhabitat types and elevation) which are count data.
