In Santiago of Chile there is some research projects about renewable energy sources, in particular de solar energy. Since here, specially in the north regions, there is huge solar potential. In adittion, a few municipalities had implemented waste sort centers.
In view of the above, on the basis of the above considerations and discussion on interesting issues, I formulated the following thesis that in many countries, in the scale of local economies, local self-government economies, in our immediate environment there are more and more examples of pro-ecological activities such as improving waste sorting, afforestation of areas industrially degraded and the creation of green areas in urban agglomerations, the growing importance of nature protection, the development of renewable energy sources, the development of electromobility, etc., which are part of the implementation of the principles of sustainable pro-ecological development in accordance with the concept of green economy.
In the context of this thesis, the following questions arise that may be the basis for conducting scientific research in this field:
- What kind of pro-ecological activities dominate in local economies in your countries?
- Does the local community fully accept new pro-ecological projects introduced by local government units or institutions and companies implementing ecological reforms?
- What kind of business entities, companies or local or central public sector institutions implement the above-mentioned pro-ecological activities?
- From what sources are the above-mentioned pro-ecological activities financed?

In the context of the above interesting discussion, I ask the following question: Is waste management efficiently carried out in your city, city district? Is the waste segregated? Is there a problem with non-biodegradable waste? Is there a problem with plastic waste? In connection with the growing importance of this issue, an important issue is the analysis of the correlation between the increase in environmental pollution by plastic and the efficiency of waste management. Are studies conducted that verify the correlation between the increase in environmental pollution by plastic and the efficiency of waste management? I ask the above questions on this Research Gate discussion forum because in recent years there have been more and more media reports that in many countries there has been a significant increase in plastic pollution and a decrease in waste management efficiency. The problem is serious because the microplastic particles are already accumulating in increasing numbers in some regions of the seas and oceans and poisoning the natural environment.
