It also depends on what kinds of seeds you want to look at. Some have not been studied at all so there is all to discover; others are already well researched in terms of their composition and properties.
Abdul Hameed those books are not free Sir, I would appreciate free e-copies if you have them ([email protected] Thilini Madurangika Jayasinghe Valerie Steele just parameters for basic analysis. i know of protein isolation and amino acid profiling, what other parameters could be looked at to make the research more interesting?
If you need to use the seeds for human consumption or preparation of animal feeds, you need to varify the basic proximate composition such as oil%, protein%, Ash%, moisture% of seeds. Other than that , better to analyse the crude fiber and dietary fiber content, essentail trace elements in the seed and also amino acid profile and fatty acid profile of the seed. Then you can fullfill the health benifit. But may be seed have healthy risk factor. Hence better to analyse non-essentail trace elements, mycotoxins specially for aflatoxins etc. Then you can make the conclusion about health risk benifit factor for seed. But this parameters also depend on the purpose that we focus on. If we plan to use the seeds as cosmetic , no need to analyse proximate.. other than that it also depend on the type of seeds. some seeds contains more oils like almand seeds, some are content high protein..hence it also depend on the type of seed and the purpose that we need to be use.
