In a situation where one cannot get the appropriate & separate levels of sieve for mycorrhizal survey work, can just one level of sieve give good results & spore counts?
@ Okan, to my experience I find mycorrizal spore size ranges between 30-400 microns and on an average at least 70% of the spore is below 250 microns. So, if you use 250 micron sieve you may collect only 30% of the spore that may not give you good results.
consider that using this sieve, you have the possible probability of also collecting small spores, however this test will only represent a screening preliminar for your study
