I am trying to set up co-culture study experiments for cellulose fermentation by fungus and subsequently ethanol production with yeast. The product of cellulose degradation in first step is glucose which is a substrate for ethanol production. Whether the glucose produced would be utilized by the first microbe (fungus) for its growth or not.
Need valuable suggestions urgently.

Would you like provide more information: 1) what fungus; 2) simultaneous co-cultivation of fungus with yeast from the beginning experiment or yeast will be inoculated in growing fungal culture?
You should consider several circumstances: the fungus potential to produce high cellulase activity, its sensibility to catabolite repression of enzyme synthesis, rate of the fungus growth and consumption of glucose, inhibition of hydrolysis by saccharification products, etc.

The fungus is Trichoderma spp., and I am thinking to inoculate the yeast in the beginning only along with Trichoderma spp. Yes the cellulase production is sensitive to the catabolite repression. Hence thinking to use this study to avoid this. But the product glucose may be utilized by Trichoderma for the its own growth. So, does this glucose produced would act as substrate for yeast for alcohol production?
If the yeast will be inoculated simultaneously with Trichoderma one may assume that no catabolite repression will be observed. If both microorganisms are compatible you should optimize their ratio in the inoculum to provide synergism in enzyme and ethanol production till Trichoderma will tolerate the ethanol concentration.
