Biomimicry is a topic that I had listened to today through a TED Talk. I appreciated the insight and inspiration of recognizing the science in a "perfect" nature to improving our own environment by using modern day technology.

In a previous question, I had asked about our ancient, rudimentary housing. The debate as to where are modern day homes came from is still under discussion but I thought, through this term, biomimicry, I may have been asking the wrong question.

Whether or not we have our own "natural home" as a species is mostly theory. However, what we have now has come through our inspired surroundings like we would in choosing an object or person to depict in history or art.

Based on what we know about the unchanging characteristics of modern housing (straight walls, slanted roofs, or dome "huts,"etc.) what could we theoretically compare to in nature as to what may have been a possible inspired answer to a problem.

Is the patterns of a birds wing or the scales of a reptile be inspired us to make layered tiles for a roof? What about doors? Windows? or even religious buildings. What divine inspiration helped us be what we are today (God or Nature).
