What might be the probable reason of Malondialdehyde level going down in case of fungal infection and rising after treatment comparing with control?

I am working on fungal infections in rodents. I am interested in knowing that what might be the probable reason of lowering of the MDA levels in case of infected groups and increase of the same after treatment.
