In Brazil, the company Koppert Biological Systems has developed and obtained registration of Boveril WP product, based on Beauveria bassiana, PL63 strain for the biological of the coffee berry borer control with the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Supply (MAPA) in 2014.
The Colombian coffee research institution CENICAFE and thus the national coffee federation (FEDECAFE) appear to have ignored the possibilities of experimenting and possibly recommending the use of neem based sprays for the control of the coffee borer. Experiments using a mix of neem and beauvaria were also very promising in a number of studies. Endosulphan has been shown to be a dangerous control agent since it has strongly negative effects on earthworm activity. If I am wrong please correct me in this opinion with respect to neem.
