Today, we are all overwhelmed and distressed after wittnessing the terrible fire on Notre Dâme Cathedral of Paris. I saw this live on tv, yesterday, and I couldn't help crying.

As I gather, from the news, the fire was aparently started from misconducted conservation works on the monument. Should we then not conserve and care for our monuments?

The positive side of this is that new restoration is possible, as much of the original medieval Art resisted . The magnificient medieval vitrals are nearly intact, whereas the 19th century wooden works and vitrals were affected. Modern works seam not to be so resistant to times when compared to original craft...

The second positive note is that such splendorous work of art was so well depicted over time and on interactive photografic and video sites, that 3D reconstruction , through 3D modern printers can fully recover the damage done.

In this sense, modern works of reconstruction have evolved, to become dependable on our efforts to keep photografic memory track of our Universal Heritage.

I have confidence and Faith in our future and in Art.

There should be severe punishment by all nations of perpetrators and destroyers of heritage buildings. However, the destroyers of two such buildings in recent times are still at large:

The Budha statue at Bamian, Afghanistan destroyed by the Taliban and the temples at Palmyra, Syria destroyed by the ISS. Nobody has chased the perpetrators of these atrocities yet. Therefore, there can be more such atrocities, if there is no punishment.

Many international organizations have been interested in heritage at the global level. UNESCO has encouraged the protection of the cultural and natural heritage through the conclusion of an international convention in 1972 known as the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Also emerged by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Fund to protect the cultural heritage of the world and natural, as well as the development of policies and conditions of international heritage protection and preservation of aid, and renewed work on heritage protection through the implementation of several activities in collaboration coordinated global organizations.

This question is of course connected with the fire in Notre-Dame de Paris. It's about how we are defenseless before the disaster and how fire can destroy history 850 years long. And finally what we must do to protect the monuments of world heritage.

Awareness, strict pollution control norms to all the industries near by area and proper government initiative related to routinely maintainence etc. can conserve the historical monuments.

The architectural monuments of world heritage are of great importance in the history of the world and today there is still a lot of room for scientists to study. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt methods of inventory and documentation of advanced technology for all archaeological groups and museums, through registration and documentation, accurate scientific description and images and conservation in appropriate ways and places of security can be accessed in various circumstances.

It is also necessary to rely on the internationally adopted electronic documentation system in addition to the detailed and locally adopted practical system while attempting to standardize the terms of international documentation.

In addition to giving lectures in the customs and police schools on the protection of the cultural and artistic heritage accompanied by an awareness campaign about the importance of cultural heritage to the general public, especially school and youth students.

The first and the foremost principle to consider nowadays is to support the U.N. in general and the Sustainable Development Goals in particular since the highly populated world is witnessing large problems in many areas concerning sustainability and at the same time weakening the most important intergovernmental organizations by irresponsible decisions of some major politicians (e.g., the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Agreement). The world needs more solidarity -not walls between nations and not neglecting the goals of sustainable development - to remain resourceful in various dimensions (including cultural and architectural heritage) for today and future generations.

We should encourage worldwide inititiatives tô 3D Scan similar as Project Mosul or the digital preservation Works done ok Palmyra as am exemple. I Work for heritage 3D repositoires for public sculpture preservation for future generations.

Rusudan Labadze to protect any world heritage architectural heritage, the responsible government or local implementing agency should record and document the possible maximum information to conserve the site/ property. Then they should plan a statement of procedure of every task which is being carried out in and around the heritage structure so by which they can ensure that no one can harm the building if they're using standard method to do any work get done. For specific conservation process related to the site there should be a person who keep check on each process which is carried out over the whole period of conservation work. Also, there should be a manager and few superintendent (round the clock) on the world heritage site/ property to manage and monitor all the activities. for safeguarding from external factors/ agents there should be a response team which obviously should include trained personal from the site management staff itself.
