I am studying the electrochemical behaviour of FeCl3 in the presence of a protein that forms a ligand with FeCl3. According to the reaction, with increasing concentration of the protein, more ligand binding should occur leading to decrease in Fe concentration which then gives reducing peak currents.

However, after a certain protein concentration, the peak current of FeCl3 is increasing to a value more than that obtained in the absence of protein.

What may be the reasons causing the rise?

Regards
