As seen in different media and articles the price of orchid varies from $20 to $6000 depending in species and the location. Orchids are normal flower as others but its price is very high comparing most of the ornamental flowers.

Growing orchid is not an easy task like other common plants. Naturally it doesn't grow from seed. Its vegetative growth is also too slow and it takes much time to generate new twigs. So it takes much time for producing new plantlets. Therefore it costs high. Besides people are interested in its unique property of growing without soil, in tree branches or Coconut shell fibre etc. Producing large number of plantlets is really tough and takes lots of time unlike other flowering plants.
