I had synthesized gold nanoparticles in organic phase, while centrifugation the particles instead of settling down as pellet, they are sticking to the walls of microcentrifuge tubes.
I am synthesizing the particles in round bottom flask and they stick around the walls of the flask. Also, if I re-disperse them in the solvent and give washing by centrifugation, they doesn't come off from the microcentrifuge tubes.
I have synthesized oleylamine capped gold nanoparticles in toluene and precipitated them methanol. Washed thrice and finally redispersed in toluene. For phase transfer to aqueous, I treated the particles with 11-MUA. After evaporating the solvent (Toluene), a black solid precipiates but it is not soluble in water.
