Hi all,

I've been encountered some contamination in my time, but this time I am truly puzzled. I am working with non-adherent glioblastoma cells and recently I observed the cells starting to form these weird structures that float on the supernatant and don't break the water-tension (see pictures).

When removed (during splitting), they reappear within a few days and can reach to 0.5 cm in radius. Did anyone see this before and can identify this?

The structure is branching and is reminiscent of a fungus, but it is unlike a fungus I have ever seen in cell culture, non-toxic to the cells. Adding Fungicides like Fungin (Invivogen) appears to make no difference.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions :)
