Uterine synechiae (Asherman's syndrome) is one of the causes of secondary amenorrhoea. A textbook of Gynaecology mentions visceral cortical reflex to be responsible for amenorrhoea in cases of intrauterine adhesions.
Visceral Cortical reflex is a concept where it is hypothesized that viscera and cerebral cortex can affect each other under some circumstances. Kindly mention which textbook mentions visceral cortical reflex as causative in amenorrhea in ahsherman's syndrome.
D.C. Dutta's Textbook of Gynecology, 6th edition mentions in Aetiopathogenesis of Secondary Amenorrhoea (p 438) that Intrauterine adhesions cause viscerocortical reflex which in turn is responsible for amenorrhoea.
In Ashermans syndrome there is a pathology lies in the End organ that is the Uterus. but in any standard textbook of Gyanaecology i have not come across this terminology in connection with Uterine synechiae.
