I am thinking of using this software to analyze the responses form 350 respondents in relation to unstructured interview. Want to know more about its usability.
Out of experience, I have found MAXQDA helpful in qualitative analysis and mixed methods research. It can be used with a wide variety of data formats (i.e., quantitative and qualitative) and different file types (e.g., audio, text, image, video). That being said, you could refer to Andrade et al. (2019), referenced below, for insights on MAXQDA and other packages.
Andrade, L. R., Costa, A. P., Linhares, R. N., de Almeida, C. A., & Reis, L. P. (2019). Qualitative data analysis software packages: An integrative review. In A. P. Costa, L. P. Reis, & A. Moreira (Eds.), Computer supported qualitative research (pp. 279–290). Springer International Publishing. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-01406-3_24
MAXQDA enables academics to do research utilizing a variety of approaches, including Grounded Theory, qualitative content analysis, group discussions, discourse analysis, and case and field studies. MAXQDA is commonly regarded as the best program for mixed methods research.
yes, I would also second what the others mentioned and say that MAXQDA is a good choice for what you are planning to do. I personally have a more quantiative background but was once prompted to perform qualitative analyses quite spontanously. With MAXQDA it was set up for this task in only a few hours following this tuturial session:
(honestly, Youtube is literarlly your best friend when startig with the program ;-))-
Also, what I particularly love (and might come in handy for you since you mention you have answers from 350 respondents) is that the tool also features functionalities for quantiative analyses, so you can constantly switch between the two paradigms within the same software depending on what you want your data to tell you.
I think all of the qualitative software analysis packages ultimately do about the same thing, but I do prefer the way MAXQDA implements these features, as well as the quality of their tutorials and written support materials.
