My collegues and me are working on the invasion risk assessment of non-native aquatic plants. We listed the species currently sold in the region (Geneva-Switzerland) and found "Myriophyllum propium". Nevertheless this is not an accepted name.
So does anyone has an idea of the identity of this species ? It doesn't look like Myriophyllum aquaticum.
Maybe, M Myriophyllum propinquum A. Cunn. from Australia and New Zealand?

propium is indeed only a tradename and not official as you already guessed. Although I'm not sure, the official name of this species would be propinquum as suggested by Arvind. In The Netherlands it is named 'Draadvederkruid' for it has thin threadlike leafs.

Do you know if this species has been observed in natural habitats in non-native distribution area? (ex Europe, North or South America?)

Giving a Myriophyllum species its proper names solely based on the trade name used is very risky and unreliable. Do you have an image of the plants to facilitate identification? Alertnatively you might have a look at the interactive image driven identification keys for invasive aquatic plants on Q-bank that includes 9 Myriophyllum species ( see links below).
For your infroamtion plants sold in the Netherlands as M. propium are actually M. simulans.

thank you for your help. Unfortunately I only have a list of species to evaluate, and it seems that this Myriophyllum has been listed because it can be bought on internet with no more information (which website for example) !
