This is a very interesting question. First, I am uncertain of what is the political status of abortion in Kenya. I am aware that in a number of African nations "therapeutic" abortion is illegal. So, my first question is are you asking about the follow-up care of women having a spontaneous pregnancy loss or selecting to terminate their pregnancy? In either situation, most women do not present for medical follow-up unless they have a complication. With the availability of early HCG testing, the pregnancy can now be confirmed with the loss documented. Yet, many women often perform their own pregnancy tests, yet do not seek counseling regarding contraceptive options. You have identified a real gap in women's care in many health care systems. The minimal data usually identified is the number of facilities where such care can be received, what care can be provided, and the number of women who access such care. I will be interested in the responses you receive.
