I will strongly recommend to think about what you need to measure and make a long-plan with your needs. Source lamp for e.g. (far-IR, mid-IR, near-IR), if you want to analyze inorganic materials, especially minerals from the sulfide group, you see that the main peaks arise bellow 400-450 cm-1, so if you have a mid-IR source lamp don't help you. And the examples are much more. The source lamp is not the single feature that you need to think about it.
