I am at a stand still and require some assistance to find a possible solution for pasture based soils that are extremely high in both acidic and basic cations with water pH of 8 on av. The soils are very poor in P understandably, now I was thinking that adding gypsum or elemental sulfur to the soils might assist, but then there will be a high chance of P fixation and possibly Al toxicity. Am I right to assume that the Al will not be a problem as yet if the soil pH is that high, it will only be a problem if the pH is reduced?

The soils are very clayey with very little OM (Av 1.5%).
