It is a common experience that besides the authorship issue, there is much internal (departmental) debate over the corresponding author of a research article. What is the importance of being a corresponding author, particularly for a young researcher. Can corresponding author be "Honorary"!!!!

In my opinion, to be a corresponding author is very big responsibility and not recommended for the young researchers to bear this big load. It can be neither honorary nor advantageous in the early stages of research career.
