Bonhoeffer referred to his culture as "a society come of age" (i.e., that it was no longer grounded in religion). This description is undoubtedly true of many Western societies as well as elsewhere in the world. Thus raising the question is there is place for the practice of spiritual care in state run institutions (e.g., hospitals, prisons, military) ?
