Surfactants such as SLS, tween20 have different CMC values. Based on CMC value can we predict that which surfactant will enhance the process of electro deposition of metal with regard to its current efficiencies and deposit quality. This information can give us an idea about which is the appropriate surfactant to be used as additive in electro deposition of metals so as to obtain smooth and bright deposits of the metal.

During electrodeposition, the use of surfactants avoid the formation of gas bubble at the electrode : the increase of the wettability of the electrode by the electrodeposition bath containing surfactant avoid the adhesion of bubbles. The decrease of the interfacial tension induced by the addition of the surfactant is then a key parameter for the choice of the surfactant.

Can you suggest me a paper which can explain the facts mentioned above. Actually i want to use some additives/ surfactants for electrodeposition of metal. I want to know the mechanism of action of surfactants (Adsorption, Ion pair mechanism) in solution during the process of electrodeposition, Sir if you can share some experience it will be really great.
