For instance I need to know statistically in a area of 1mm * 1 mm how many 110 or 101 or 011 grains are present or grains closer to any one of these will be mapped under one these plane group. I want to know other than EBSD any other techniques that I can be used for poly-crystal diamond.

Any references on this topic will be really helpful. I found some papers where Raman spectroscopy was used for finding grain orientation but I did not understand the principle.
