What is the right time (in terms of age) to start scientific research with publication to grow and make one's carrier as a scientist?

Many graduate students begin their publishing careers as graduate students often providing their research services in the carrying out of a grant project headed by their advisor. Often such publishing relationships continue long after the graduate student has completed their degree and is working at another institution. In some fields, for example, mathematics, but also in some other natural sciences, a faculty member's contributions tend to come earlier in their careers. In other disciplines, such as the humanities, where breadth of experience may be relatively more important, major research and literary contributions come later.
Yashwant - John is correct here. It often depends on discipline. I, personally, don't think that there is a specific age. It's about maturity and support as to when an ECR can enter the research arena with confidence.
If a person is ready to publish and boost his career he or she can do it. There are no specific age requirements. Nevertheless, by age, you become more experienced, and starting very early to publish or Ph.D. sometimes becomes very stressful due to the lack of experience.
Research can begin anytime when the person is ready to establish what to research on. also the researcher should be mature and academically sound to embark on what to research about: hence age is not necessarily a factor
The sooner you begin the better, provided you have the right frame of mind and initiative for knowledge discovery and patience for overcoming hurdles.
To become a scientist we should be first eligible for that job...like Phd and then passing of interview as junior scientist...then during probation we should try to understand the system how it works...onwards work for personal development and also for organization as well....
