Rice yield is affected by soil moisture condition. Soil moisture reduces from field capacity to permanent wilting point. The rice yield reduces accordingly. There may be a level of moisture reduction where yield is not affected.
In cereals water limitations are effective during reproductive phase, as in density pf panicles and spikelets n° per panicle. The concept of PWP is not very useful in application, because it depends on root depth and vegetative phase. During reproduction even small shortages can determine an effect, but in postemergence it is hard to find any effect in rice adaptetion areas. Filled grain % is the target dut sensitivity depends on race and condition. A sample trial is from Boonjung and Fukai http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0378429096000391
