In case of a piezoelectric thin film sensors (ex: FBAR sensor) if we increase the operating temperature to above room temperature then the acoustic velocity (v) increases, this causes an increase in frequency (as f= v/2d), but what about the density (d)? Will it increase or decrease, and why?
The density will decrease. The coefficient of thermal expansion for ZnO is positive at temperature greater than 120K (see linked source page 12). It will be a very small effect unless you have a large temperature change (remember to use Kelvin)
