we know the cells tend adhered to the surfaces. when the contact angle decrease,the cell adhesion increased.
What is the relationship between the wettability or contact angle and adhesion of cells?
Is it the role for that? how?

When the forces of adhesion (A) are greater than the forces of cohesion (C), the liquid tends to wet the surface (or spread on the other liquid), when the forces of adhesion are less by comparison to those of cohesion, the liquid tends to "refuse" the surface. For spreading or perfect wetting the wettability must be nonnegative: S=A-C>=0. The relationship between the adhesion and contact angle is given by the Dupre –Young equation.
The quantitative relation between adhesion energy sigma[adh] (a negative number) per unit area and the equilibrium contact angle theta is:
-sigma[adh] = sigma[M] * ( 1 + cos(theta) ),
where sigma[M] is membrane's tension. Complete wetting is at theta = 0 / -sigma[adh] > 2*sigmaM; complete non-wetting is at theta = Pi, sigma[adh] = 0. Often elastic strain must be accounted for and nearly always non-equilibrium angles are measured, where kinetic factors control theta; therefore, theta is not very reliable way to estimate sigma[adh].
