I am studying on reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and chlorophyll breakdown under dark stress in detached leaves. I am very interested to know the real situation happening under this conditions. Any previous experiences please? Thanks
I think, there will be strong negative correlation between chlorophyll production and accumulation of ROS , since concentration of ROS is an indication of magnitude of stress to plants vis-a-vis photosynthesis rate...
Definitely chlorophyll oxidation and damage will be induced by enhancing ROS. ROS will directly hit lipid nature of chl pigments and one can measure such changes as a marker of chlorophyll damage.
