Philosophy is arm chair thinking. When we introduce mathematics into it to quantify our ideas for further investigation it becomes science. So philosophy should be regarded as the 'Father of Science'. Science ultimately culminates into philosophy.
The goal of philosophy - ultimate reality and the goal of science - truth remains the same. Contents remain the same, only methodologies have divided them into two different branch of studies.
Ultimate Reality or Absolute Truth, although exists, but it is the creation of imagination. In our endeavour to know it concept of INFINITY comes. In Vedas, oldest Holy Scripture, this state is being described as 'Neti', 'Neti' Not This, Not This.
Dear Peter. it seems you know more about Vedas than I know them. It's your greatness. I feel that the real problem of humanity is that they (humanity) want to know everything except themselves.
Science is a process of thinking ,innovation ,& sometimes it helps our mental tuning with an intuition .However the science is a subject matter of experimental of & in quite good case a subject of laboratory which also help the scientist inspiring him to carry out the same with the help of intuition .
Philosophy cannot establish overall relation with the philosophy as the science call for concentration with the result & philosophy starts with meditation,.a line of concentration but in a different mode that philosophy deals & helps us the action of our body of Mind ,& to the conscious & subconscious it helps us to move in a inner silent voice with divinity within us .
It is in this line the philosophy brings us overall peaceful thinking in a calm & quite manner to carry out our action of our day to day life.
