Inner-core of turmeric primary rhizome is considered to give good quality turmeric as well as weight to dry rhizome. While curing, the outer core shrinks, where inner-core remains mostly intact physically, thus giving shape, size and quality to turmeric rhizomes. It is important to identify good inner-core sized genotypes. In this context, I would like to know the relation between the inner-core size of turmeric mother rhizomes and inner-core size of primary, secondary and tertiary rhizomes.
