I was trying to find the recrystallization temperature of AlSi10Mg. Instead found a paper which says the melting temperature of AlSi10Mg is ~650 C. So is it safe to assume that the recrystallization temperature is 0.5*Melting Temperature?
Or can anyone refer me any relevant literature?

However, in general, aluminum alloys like AlSi10Mg typically undergo recrystallization at temperatures ranging from 300 to 500 degrees Celsius. For precise information, you may need to refer to the material specifications or consult with the manufacturer
It is usually reasonable to assume as a first rough estimate that 50% of the melting point in Kelvin is a reasonable starting point for primary static recrystallization.
There are several things to consider though:
1) you must take the real melting point for that specific alloy composition from the phase diagram or from the measurement in Kelvin, not the melting point of aluminium. The alloy you are referring to has a relatively low melting point compared to pure aluminum.
2) the approximation is valid indeed for the so-called primary RX which consists in classical RX nucleation, formation of high angle grain boundaries and the sweeping of these new grain boundaries through the adjacent deformation matrix. This approximation is however only valid if the material has been plastically deformed to about 50%.
3) you must take into consideration that the RX behavior of aluminium alloys depends very highly on the type of alloy you are considering. For example pure aluminum does not easily undergo primary static RX due to its very high stacking fault energy and the extremely high mobility and cross slip probability of the dislocations - which leads to extensive recovery. This massive recovery tendency takes away the driving force for RX from the stored dislocations. Many aluminium alloys with a sufficiently high amount of precipitates and solutes (and a sufficiently high degree of plastic deformation), however, store dislocations better so that primary recrystalization is possible.
4) in parallel and such high temperatures these alloys undergo competitive grain coarsening.

Considering AlSi10Mg 3D printing by means of SLM technology, achieved grain size is extremely fine.
If we consider the melting point of 570ºC for this alloy, should we go beyond the half this temperature to achieve a significant grain growth?
