I have been working with a transgenic mice which receive seven days treatment with an antibiotic. After seven days I collected blood in the serum collection tube. After centrifugation I found turbid/milky serum (half of the total mice). What are the reason of cloudy serum. Is it lipid or some other factors. Previously, I used high fat diet induced obesity model. However, I never have had this problem. I would appreciate if you guys can explain this issue.

If you centrifuge this serum and the milkiness migrates to the liquid-air interface, then it's most likely fats.
