What is the reason for the accumulation of some particles in the final stage of preparation of pegylated liposome after freeze drying?

When the PEGylated liposomes undergoes freeze thaw or dehydration process, bilayer of liposomes will get distrupt and will lead to aggregation of particles during Freeze drying.
