The thickness increasing upon the doping levels is likely to come from the fabrication process of thin films. It would be great to know how you made such films.
Film thickness increases due to the strong bonding between the internal structure which could be possible by suitable doping
The thickness of films made by spray pyrolysis very much depends on several factors such as the concentration of your solutions, the substrates treatment and spray duration controlling. The doping could have the molecular interactions, which leads to condensed films. It would be interesting to know the roughness of your films changed upon the increasing doping.
