Maybe you agree with me that the hardness of a ceramic will increase when its grain size reduce. There are a lot of work studying on the mechanism of this phenomenon. However, what will happen with bending/flexural strength when the grain become smaller? My experimental results indicated that the bending strength will also increase with the decrease of grain size, but I don't know the real mechanism. I guess it is because of the low porosity of the small-grain ceramic. I would like to listen to your opinions.
