In several readings, I noticed that the samples were frozen in liquid nitrogen before heating them in autoclaves, especially if the solvent is DMF, NMP etc.
As I am novice in this direction, can anyone explain me what is the purpose of freezing?
Entropy is an important role for any kind of reactions. For the synthesis of MOFs, liquid nitrogen can freeze the starting materials and reaction will go slow down and more probability to get a single crystal.
