Wanted to classify land,water and vegetation for landsat 7 ETM+ multispectral images using unsupervised classification. Let me know the details on classifying the images in differentiating land and water in matlab.
You can do with simple numerical steps
read Landsat 7 data using Matlab tool (Hope you know geotiffread inbuilt command)
Extract band 4 (IR band)
do binary classification (pixel value 0 is one class and greater than 0 is another class)
Zero value is water area; rest is land area
thank u sir, Is atmospheric correction required for doing binary classification.It will be helpful If some more details of classification is given since I am new to this topic.
