Hello!

I am following a recipe from literature to spin SiC fibers via electrospinning. I have used PCS(MW=1000-2000) and DMF & Toluene as solvents. I mixed the solution overnight with gentle stirring. While I was spinning, it built on the needle tip whatever the applied voltages and concentrations were! i have tried 20:80, 30:70 DMF: Toluene solvents and from 1.1-1.3 g/ml PCS.

But I can not avoid building it on the tip. It seems like the solvents are evaporating too fast as compared to other solutions tried for PAN or other fibers. What are the causes of this? Also, what should I try next to get SiC fibers?

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
