You have actually two options: 1) to perform semisolid stirring/casting, i.e. you should find the semisolid temperature range of your alloy; 2) to be quite above the melting point in order to deal with a melt with a viscosity low enough (approximately 800 cent deg). I would not recommend to be at too much high temperature (above 850 cent deg) because of a possible oxidation of a reinforcement phase (i.e. SiC may be sensitive for overheating in air).
