I have cardiomyocytes plated on 6 well plates, on sensors.
I need a cheap assay determining or confirming their attachment and viability. MTT can't be of use as any application I've seen is in 96 well plates. Does anyone know of a test that helps with that?

You could look at propudium iodide staining or staining with JC1 dye. You could also measure the release of lactate dehydrogenase activity relative to the amount of LDH contained within cell extracts.
You can do DNA estimation and different fluorescent staining and can get quantitative results.
Hi! I suggest you can do Trypan blue exclusion test (simply calculate alive and dead cells).
And for attachment, I covered wells of 96-well plate (but you may use another one) with Matrigel, then seeded 10^5 cells/well, incubated 30 min at 37, then washed out non-adherent cells with PBS, fixed adherent cells with PFA and stained with Crystal violet dye. Then you have to dissolve Crystal violet in 30% acetic acid and measure OD at 590/630 nm.
Tryphan blue exclusion assay will be a good option for estimation of live and dead cells.
