I have attempted numerous times to achieve a nitrogen content of 26% in calcium ammonium nitrate, but consistently obtained a value of 22.93%. Can anyone provide assistance on achieving the desired 26% nitrogen content?
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) 5[Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3.10H2O]
Ammonical 15Nitrogen = 5 X 15 = 75
Nitrate’s 15Nitrogen = 15 x 15 = 225
% of ammonical nitrogen in CAN = 75 X 100/ 2141.9508 = 3.5
% of Nitrogen from nitrates = 225 X 100/ 2141.9508 = 10.5
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) 5Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3.10H2O
Ammonical 15Nitrogen = 1 X 15 = 15
Nitrate’s 15Nitrogen = 15 x 11 = 165
% of ammonical nitrogen in CAN = 15 X 100/ 1092.5547= 1.37
% of Nitrogen from nitrates = 165 X 100/ 1092.5547 = 15.1
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) 5[Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3.10H2O]
Ammonical 14Nitrogen = 5 X 14.0067 = 70.0335
Nitrate’s 14Nitrogen = 15 x 14.0067 = 210.1005
% of ammonical nitrogen in CAN = 70.0335 X 100/ 2121.4198 = 3.3
% of Nitrogen from nitrates = 210.1005 X 100/ 2121.4198 = 9.9
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) 5Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3.10H2O
Ammonical 14Nitrogen = 1X 14.0067= 14.0067
Nitrate’s 14Nitrogen = 11 x 14.0067= 154.0737
% of ammonical nitrogen in CAN = 14.0067 X 100/ 1080.6352= 1.29
% of Nitrogen from nitrates = 154.0737 X 100/ 1080.6352 = 14.25
% of nitrogen in calcium ammonium nitrate Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3
% of ammonical nitrogen in CAN = 28 x 100/ 244.13 = 11.46
% of Nitrogen from nitrates in CAN = 28 X 100/244.13 = 11.46
total Nitrogen = 23.92 % Ca (NO3)2. NH4NO3
