I am working on a paper that looks into the dynamics of the spread of Wolbachia and its potential impact on dengue transmission, particularly in the Philippines.
In Indonesia, Walbachia project has been focussed in Yogyakarta. It shown significant result after five yers, however dengue case infection still high on fatality rate standard
Hello, I am currently working within the framework of a PhD with a student on the epidemiological and etiological profile of the Dengue virus at the level of the University Hospital Center for Mother and Child, but I am encountering a major diagnostic problem at the PCR: Lack of reagents.
Interesting research, although not in my field of work. I have heard about Wolbachia infections in other Diptera possibly causing melanistic non-fertile females. Is this the main reason for the slowing of the spread of Dengue? Is there any research on how Wolbachia will affect other insects?
