I am running amino acids in uPLC. The aa are extracted from bilogical fluids using methanol. Then, it is recomanded to filter the sample before runing in uPLC. However, the are so many types of filter vials that I am not sure which one is the best. First, there glass vials and polypropilene vials, then there are polypropilene, PVDF, TMF, PTFE filer and finaly there are 0.2 and 0.45 microns. Which one is most suitable?

Dalit, for UHPLC you should use 0.22 microns , and, possibly, PTFE filter.
If you have all types of this ( PVDF, PTFE , PES, RC) filters, you should compare chromatograms
The choice of vial material and/or syringe filter is important. For vials, chemical compatibility is key, also biological compatibility (plastic is often preferred for bio samples, but if MS will be used, then the plastics may leach other compounds into the solution so glass may be a better option?).
For syringe filters, it depends on the: filter diameter size (volume contained) of your sample, the chemical compatibility of the housing and membrane, also, the desired pore size. *For most HPLC applications, a 0.22 micron filter pore size is ideal.
Please research your application and needs before proceeding and definitely get some assistance with any proposed HPLC or LC-MS method. Sample preparation is very important.

- BTW: Terminology in science is very important. The technique is called "HPLC", not "uPLC" ('UPLC' is a trademark and brand name of Waters Corp, not a technique).
We use 0.22 micron PTFE and PVDF based on the solvent of the sample. Polypropylene vials should be compatible with MS, we use a high recovery polypropylene vials with our waters MS. When we use glass vials, we sometimes need to use inserts which again are made of polypropylene.
