I am trying to culture anaerobes, I am familiar with the anaerobic chamber, in the case of growing the microbes on agar media. Can anyone assist me with any suggestions on how to culture these anaerobes when they are in liquid broth media? In addition, provision of supplementary references will be of great help.

Both Robertson's cooked meat broth medium (RCM) and Thioglycollate broth can be used. I also add cysteine as a reducing agent.

Thanks Frank...I was going to say the same thing..that he can use Thioglycollate Agar...It is a broth but with little amount of agar to make it viscous but not solid....in fact it is semi-solid in nature but has components that exclude molecular oxygen.
Which anaerobes you are trying to culture? Clostridium and relatives are pretty easy compared to sulfate-reducers and methanogens as the latter do need a little extra attention when growing.
