Among the emerging decontamination technologies, low energy X-ray (LEXR) and low energy electron beam (LEEB) treatment are new trend to be an effective bacterial inactivation with a minimal influence on food quality. On commercial scale, minimum effective energy, minimum dose and minimum dose rate are the special characters for acceptance and reliability of aforementioned technology for irradiation processing. I would like to know the minimum dose rate of X-ray and electron in each energy region for irradiation processing and mutation breeding.

Low doses of radiation can damage cells and alter their molecular mechanisms, posing risks and bystander effects similar to those of high dose radiation, according to the linear non-threshold model. Therefore, according to this model, there is no minimum dose rate.
